FACES

Author: Ben Walker

Poem:
FACES

  Yes, we love you, their faces lie;
The ground contains the angle of their eyes.
The transparent smiles on their brown slathered faces,
Take me back to incandescent places.
I cannot see, cannot breathe, cannot arrange a thought;
Again to these dark places my memory’s brought.
Yet I do not breathe heavily nor cast heavy stares,
For my mind has been broken beyond all repairs.
I do not laugh, truly laugh, at witty discourse;
Nor do I cry when the blood’s run its course;
For it seems that, from time to time,
I’m not even here, not even alive,
For feelings have left me for someone else in time,
For someone else in whom they’ll thrive.
For I am left as a shell of a man in this place,
I am nothing, with a face.

Untitled

Author: Max Ochoa

Poem: Untitled

How is it that i feel this way
Taken me for all the I have
Bound and determined to make more of this
Unless I end up with the less of this
Still what is that of this
Is without tah of this which seem so useless
I try to find and search my way but endless darkness
Always seems to stay
But in this darkness I may lay totally
oblivious
To what makes its stay
Inside of a creature whos bees sleeeping
Leaving me to only do the weeping
