Two Poems from our Dark Poems, Depressing Poems, Death Poetry Collection

DO YOU HEAR?

Author: Dionne Higginbottom

Poem:
DO YOU HEAR?

Do you hear the silent weeping?
Their moans are sung so low.
And anyone who tries to help them
Are marked by all they know.

And do you hear the lonely crying?
Their piercing screams that seem undying.
Truth that streams from the undenying.
It's the pain that fuels their tears.

Do you hear their voice of sadness?
The constant pain you couldn't fathom
Ongoing struggles with the unimagined.
It's the madness taking its toil.

And do you hear the worn away?
The things they try to say
Cause if you even tried to listen
Their thoughts would turn you grey.

TRAPPED

Author: Amarachi Anukam

Poem: TRAPPED

Cold and empty
shut in my own
dark hole,
crawling deeper,
getting away,
falling...
tumbling...
trapped.
Nowhere to run,
or go,
too dark
to see
or breathe
plunging
through darkness,
trying to find,
a way
out.
