WHY THE PAIN?

Author: Monica Freiert

Poem:
WHY THE PAIN?

Cut the skin to the bone
Fall asleep all alone
Hear your voice in the dark
Then I think about the mark
The bruises will fade
The scars will remain
I want you out of my life
Cause I don't want to use the knife
I thought you loved me
I thought you cared
Now that I'm scared
And don't know what to do
How will I ever confront you?
You scared me away
And how can I stay
Now the knife is too deep
And my emotions will start seep
Stronger and stronger
I cannot become any longer
Each night I wish
Each night I pray
That your attendance
Will be gone one day
So now I leave to a world of guilt
Where all the walls I have built
Come down
So they don’t surround
Good hours of darkness
Now I fall asleep
To remember the confusion
You left in thee.

Untitled

Author: Kristina Knipe

Poem: Untitled

Shattered and shunned
lay this child of darkness
offsrping of the devil
Desdemona

Forsaken she lay here
away from friendly embrace
chained to an island
scars mark her face

Born of Pandora
Centuries ago
Daughter of Sin
Sinner in skin

Loved none save one,
a mortal recluse
they shared moutains
till his time did come

She turned to light
they pushed her out
too sinful for heaven
too good for hell

Sentenced to an island
for decades
if she will last
only time will tell

She waits at her island
for when the world is ready
to seek her out
but it never will be
