PEACEFUL REMINDERS~

Author: Kristina Knipe

Poem:
PEACEFUL REMINDERS~

  Darkness
falls over my face
I become one with it again
A deep melancholy comes from my chest
it is the only emotion I feel
darkness
it is not a chaotic one
here lies peaceful dread
pain the only reminder I'm not dead

BROKEN

Author: Emily Mccarhty

Poem: BROKEN

Suffocated by the monotony in which they imprison us
Broken spirits and hostile actions risen in us
Replace the simple happiness which now is just a dream
Faith is now behind us, not within us
Anger and emotion now consume us
Caused by whom we thought could best protect us
But still we keep our feelings deep within us
Though this fear that they've created will destroy us
