Two Poems from our Dark Poems, Depressing Poems, Death Poetry Collection

END OF MY DAYS

Author: Vernon Langford

Poem:
END OF MY DAYS

Until my worldly tasks are completed,
and I lie humble within,
This alone is the only time,
my good life shall begin.

As I stare up at the sun,
pondering it's very being,
I alone can't begin to comprehend,
precisely what I'd be seeing.

As I gasp my last breath,
And I blink the last time,
I finally shall set my eyes upon,
the light and the Heavenly shrine

Among the years I have seen death,
Witnessed it alone in my world and wonder,"Why?".
Yet my last word was one of great importance,
The final word, "Good-Bye".
