Two Poems from our Dark Poems, Depressing Poems, Death Poetry Collection

NOW I KNOW

Author: Aaron Webb

Poem:
NOW I KNOW

I was on my way home from a party that night,
When a guy quickly sped up to my right.
He must have had too much to drink,
For he was gone with one single blink.

He sped ahead without any thought,
He wasn’t worried about getting caught.
Ten minutes later I saw him once more,
His body mangled, hanging out of his door.

His car had rapidly spun out of control,
Ramming right into a telephone pole.
I slammed on the brakes, No time to stall,
I pulled out my cell and made the call.

I got out of my car and raced to the guy,
I could tell by his looks that he would surely die.
I pulled him out of the horrible mess,
His eyes were filled with deep distress.

I heard the sirens grow closer to the site,
This guy was putting up one hell of a fight.
Then he gave his one last sigh,
I held him close and began to cry.

The ambulance came and took him away,
I never want to relive that day.
Now I know not to drink and drive,
I’d prefer to stay alive.

MIND OF FRAME

Yesterday I found wounds in my salt
You may say it its not my fault
Red glowing embers burn out inside my soul
Take a piece of mine if yours isnt whole
Inhaling your thoughts refreshes my brain
Get high get free break the mind body chain
Sitting on the lawn feeling the grass between toes
Can it be true life is not all poetry and prose
