Two Poems from our Dark Poems, Depressing Poems, Death Poetry Collection

OF LIFE AND DUST

Author: Ricky Jones

Poem:
OF LIFE AND DUST

eyes open to this tempestuous day
the moon has faded but the sun never came.
A fire i illume
but no heat i can feel.
I ponder the reason
my breath coming short,
lightheaded, the pain i feel is real.

broken now,
torn by these depending decisions
of life and dust,
they're rendering illusion,
a hope now
my only foreverence.

call me dismay
taunt me, my despair
there's nothing left
my inner sanctuary has burned,
and in a seasons resolution
i wish for a castle in the air.

now in the wake of the shadow
i see that not nothing
but the nothingness is me,
and contemplating myself,
i sit under a weeping tree
the rain is falling
my tears are lost,
lost in life and dust.

THE END

Author: Dania Alkhouli

Poem: THE END

One day you said
Let us be friends
And I agreed, not using my head
Walking straight into your trends

Day after day
As I trusted you
I gave all my secrets away
Not knowing what you'd do

As time passed on,
Still telling about my life
Things began to dawn
I was stabbed in the back with a knife

Rumors were spread
People were told
My reputation was now dead
And to you it never got old

Now I have learned
From the scars I've earned
Not to trust
But only my own dust

I am sorry to say
Our friendship has ceased
From this day on
Consider it deceased
