Thou never saw the love dealt upon thee,
Thou never locked with lips of love.
Thou never laughed or danced or played,
Or tried to soar, just like the dove.
Thou never sang a happy tune,
Thou never joked, with a friend.
Thou never shared thy truth, with anyone,
Until the very end,
Thou never shared thy truth, with anyone,
Until the very end.
Thou left a note on thy bedroom floor,
Stained a deep crimson red.
“I don’t belong here, I don’t deserve thee,”
That horrid note said to me,
And said your heart in agony,
On that fateful summer day.
I grabbed the note, and tore and scrunched,
To erase the words from within my heart.
And a single tear fell from my eye,
Followed by many, I started to cry:
A river for my lonely friend.
I cried a river for thee, my friend.
Why, O Why, did you have to go?
And leave me in this world so cruel.
And take with you the essence of my life,
My very being, my soul,
Deep within me is now a hole.
My heart now is with you.
Thou never saw how much I cared,
Thou never knew thy worth.
Thou never thought that there was one,
Who’s love was as true as the shining sun.
Thou never thought that there was anyone,
Who cared for thee at all.
But now your gone, life seems a blur,
A world tainted with death.
And all I can think of is why?
Why did you have to die?
And take my heart, my will to live,
Leaving me as the walking dead.
My long lost love, my roaming soul.
Without you I am nothing.
Yours may have been the life that was lost,
But you never thought, “What was the cost?”
You took your life, and with you came me,
To stay with you, for eternity.
I am yours, forevermore.
