Two Poems from our Dark Poems, Depressing Poems, Death Poetry Collection

IN MEMORY

Author: Katherine Gray

Poem:
IN MEMORY

When people die it's meant to be.
Though it's not the way it seems.
Even when we miss them so.
We realize that they had to go.
It may not seem right or clear.
But, you must knwo they're always near.
They're watching you from Heaven above.
Making sure you're always loved.
So just remember as you go about your day.
You'll always meet up with them again someday.

AS IT RAINS

Author: Rain Silver

Poem: AS IT RAINS

As it rains
I’m left here all alone
To sit upon the unforgiving streets
The rain pours down upon me cold and hard
Mixing with my tears and chilling me
But somehow icy fingers comfort me
Washing salty droplets from my cheek
I scream across the wood
But there is no reply
I ask a single question, why can’t I disappear
To wander in amongst the ghostly plains
Forever seeking love, it tries to hide
But diligence uncovers it, alone and bare
A single beating heart upon the ground
Furious I demand to know
Why it tries so hard to hide
Why it showers down on all of them
At my yells the heart begins to bleed
The fragile balance now has been destroyed
I killed the only chance I’ll ever have
Why must I always go one step too far?
Never again
Once and for all the pain must go away
The poison sings a siren song to me
I raise the bottle to my lips
And say my short goodbyes
Because it really doesn’t matter
When an invisible person dies
