Two Poems from our Dark Poems, Depressing Poems, Death Poetry Collection

TO EREWHON

Author: Zoe Onutu

Poem:
TO EREWHON

The boisterous alacrity revenges the bygone ubiquity.
Unremitting calls, a pernicious shade of moist in the hot summer air that will cause inequilibrium
you are still too loud even if the only thing you feel is revulsion.
18 different wishes, 18 different hopes, 18 identical torn dreams gathered inside a virtual fine.
A sinewy body you do not know how to worship,
as the hands stumble over the protuberant lumps.
Lying in bed, holding your hand, ‘beating’ your heart.
Part of the part? Dirt. Frivolity. Superficiality.Horrible reek.
Love elevates tours, innovating and terrorising the innate abilities.
‘If you can’t wake up in the morning, coz your bed lies vacant at night.’
Take a pill
against your will,
and you’ll fulfill
what’s left to feel.
Have you found the way ?

TORMENT OF TIME

Author: Alexandra Looney

Poem: TORMENT OF TIME

Time
A twisting torment
Encompassing our lives with
Permanent consistency.
Circling around us
It traps us – consuming
We can’t escape.

Never enough
And always too much
Varying speeds for inconvenience
Darkness.
Devouring us and filling
Our souls with horror and calm.
A light shines through

With panic we lose it
And once more trapped,
Lost forever.
As each measured second
Passes by we try
To make each minute last –
A lifetime
Gone.

To start again,
From the ashes of Time come
The birth of Time.
And never a Time shall pass
Before life,
After death.
Does it exist there?
Only Time shall tell.
