The Ice Caps Are Melting

Author: Leon Trotter

Poem:
The Ice Caps Are Melting

Governments rose to the challenge to help their fellow man.
Nevertheless the icecaps are melting and who gives a dam.
The icecaps are melting, and there melting so fast.
As they melt they raise the oceans, the oceans so vast.
The icecaps are there, they are there for a special purpose.
When they are gone my friend, something is going to hurt us.

Governments rose to the challenge to do what they can.
But all they done my friend, was blame their fellow man.
All the governments thought of was their GDP.
Nevertheless the icecaps are melting my friend, just wait and see.

Who cares for the animals, the animals that live there.
Like the Arctic Fox the Penguins and the Pola Bear.
Thousands of years they have lived and died in this place.
When the icecaps are gone my friend, they cannot be replaced.

The icecaps are melting, they are melting so fast.
As they melt my friend they raise the oceans, the oceans so vast.

Trading Carbon Emissions is where governments they hang their hat.
So lets make some money and get what we can out of that.
El Nino is a cycle of the planet, its a cycle of the earth.
So lets trade on Carbon Emissions my friend and see what they are worth.

The icecaps are melting, they are melting so fast.
As they melt my friend they raise the oceans, the oceans so vast.

Who will care for all the animals that do live there.
Like the Arctic Fox the Penguins and the Pola Bear.
When the icecaps have melted and these animals have gone away.
It will be at the zoo's my friend where we can see them play.

The icecaps are melting, they are melting so fast.
As they melt my friend, they will raise the oceans, the oceans so vast
Who will care for the Penguins the Arctic Fox the Pola Bear, when they have nowhere to play?

THEY HAVE A RIGHT TO BE FREE

Author: Leon Trotter

Poem: THEY HAVE A RIGHT TO BE FREE

Playing around with so much ease and grace in the sea.
Opens up our eyes puts a smile on our face, just for you and me.
They come here to relax, give birth and out of harms way.
For just a few months they will be with us night and day.

Then one day they will leave us and wave to us their by by's.
As we stand and watch them swim away with tears in our eyes.
For those tears that run down our face they will flow.
Because when we will see them again we do not know.

Swimming out into the vastness of the oceans blue.
Are those mighty Whales that gave so much pleasure to me and you.
Where they go? What they do we have no idear?
Concerned for their survival is our greatest fear.

Swimming to warmer waters guided by the moon.
Are those mighty Whales, that may fall victim to someones harpoon.
Shame must fall upon those who strike that deadly blow?
That shame must come from everybody, those we dont even know.

Singing their beautiful songs as they swim the oceans blue.
Are those mighty Whales that gave so much pleasure to me and you.
They are so beautiful, they are the Angels of the sea.
For they are mammals just like you and me.

They have a right to swim,to swim the oceans blue.
For they have a right to be free, just like me and you.
Cruising the oceans in their slaughter ships.
Are those Whalers with their harpoons at their fingertips.

Many Whales have died in the years gone by.
Many Whales have died with a tear in their eye.
No matter what you think, they are mammals just like you and me.
And they have a right, a right to live.
They have a right to be free.
