Two Poems from our Sad, Grief, Sympathy, Broken Heart Poetry Collection

I SIT AND SIGH

Author: Lee Emmett

Poem:
I SIT AND SIGH

  you wonder why
I sit and sigh
I’ll tell you why

I sit and sigh
for time goes by
and my thoughts fly

as days go by
I weep and cry
love said goodbye

I was so high
on cloud in sky
sweet cherry pie

on cloud nine high
on bower lie
his end was nigh

our marriage tie
till either die
his last goodbye

his soul did fly
to heavenly sky
with angels high

and that is why
ah me, ah my
I sit and sigh

SHADOWS OF LIFE

Author: Thelma Zaracostas

Poem: SHADOWS OF LIFE

TRIBUTE TO ANTHEA.

She walked in the shadows
covered with kindness and smiles
Darkness of her life and unhappiness
bottled deep inside. demands from many
close to her, she thought only of them,
she became a non person living only
in the shadows of life

Years of pain hidden away, as she struggled
to get through each day. Gave so much to
others in this life.
Felt unloved and neglected hid this secret
deep inside.
She ofen wondered if she had given enough
of her time to everyone.

Fate came knocking on her door.
Hospital room four white walls
Day by day visitors came.
Closest of friends rallied around
never left her on her own.

She could not understand, why the shadows
in her life, had suddenly turned to light.
She asked why am I deserving of all this
love and attention?
A friend took her gently by the hand,
it's a awful lesson for you to learn
when one is at deaths door, so be it
if you now can see,
How much you are loved and that's no lie.

The grim reaper was getting closer,
he knew his job was almost over,
She knew that she was loved, no more
shadows in her life.
The angel took her by the hand
they walked away into the light
she was now ready to meet her maker!
