Two Poems from our Tributes, Memorials Poetry Collection

Kiss the Wind

Author: Naomi Wolfson

Poem:
Kiss the Wind

Lately I have felt your voice
Wishing for another choice
To choose a dream much more real
Searching for a new way to feel
Here I am yet all alone
Waiting for a world unknown
I've come too far to give in now
Never did I think of how
The wind flows by everyday
Its whispers are my modeling clay
That is why I have come here
Surrounding myself with everything to me dear
This is where my house shall lie
Upon this ground is where I shall die
Before I kiss the wind goodbye
I will make my vow to never again cry
This place upon the land I built
Shall never give me nor anyone grief or guilt
Forever is this place in which I live
Just like the love I have to give

A GRANDFATHER'S LOVE

Author: Katie Clifford

Poem: A GRANDFATHER'S LOVE

Each and every day,
You know just how to show
That even though he’s absent,
He’ll never really go.

Time is spent loving us,
And wanting him to see
Daniel, Sarah, Laura, Ryan,
And yours truly, Katie Marie.

You show us that he cares,
Every way that you know how.
You’re how we know he’s watching,
Wishing he could be here now.

We know we’re lucky to have
Each minute we spend with you.
Your love, support, hug, and spoil
Us all enough for two.

We think of him each day
And God knows we always will,
It’s just our way of saying,
We miss you, Grandpa Phil.
